MPD 2021, an acronym for Master Plan Delhi 2021, has been commissioned in 2003 by Union urban development ministry to be executed through Delhi Development Authority. The scale of complexity can be assessed from the fact that it took 200 experts from different fields, divided into 12 sub groups, 2 years just to draft this plan.
MPD 2021 has won prestigious ISOCARP award in 2008, with following citation:
“For the capacity to articulate a holistic planning at one of the most complex metropolitan areas of the world, and facing key changes that are in common in many other megalopolises of the planet: from shelter to trade and commerce, from industry to environment, from conservation of built heritage to urban design and from development code to plan monitoring.”
With Delhi’s population rising at a high pace and more people entering the city each year, there was a need to expand city’s boundary. According to the Delhi Master Plan 2021, one can expect Delhi to grow taller and wider and provide 25 lakhs new housing units. With this objective land present towards the border and closer to Dwarka has been approved to be developed within the city’s boundary and hence make it an important portion of the urban development of the city. Only when the planning and the execution would work in synergy, the problem of the ever-rising population would be addressed. The Dwarka extension is the perfect area for home seekers belonging to the middle-income group, to have an affordable housing in areas near to South Delhi and Dwarka.
Adhikari Awas Yojana is a remarkable investment proposition and is also one of the best conceptualised residential ventures in Delhi. The project is next to Dwarka and Gurgaon and is well connected to metro routes and expressways. This officers housing scheme is also close to South Delhi, which makes it easy for residents to enjoy the best shopping and host of facilities available there. Noida and Greater Noida, are better connected through new metro lines. Overall, this scheme provides best location coordinates in Delhi, and is sure to fetch lots of appreciation in the future.
